As of 19th August 2026, all legacy PayPal subscriptions have been cancelled.
PayPal Billing Agreements replaced our previous PayPal subscription system. A single Billing Agreement can cover all your services and can be managed or cancelled easily through your PayPal account.
If you already have a PayPal Billing Agreement, no action is required. If you previously paid using a PayPal subscription and have not yet created a Billing Agreement, you can set one up the next time you receive and pay an invoice.
You may have received an email from PayPal confirming that one or more subscriptions were cancelled. This was expected as part of the transition and does not mean that your services with Maxer have been cancelled.
⚙️ How do I set up a Billing Agreement?
You can create a PayPal Billing Agreement:
-
During checkout when placing a new order
-
When paying an invoice using PayPal
Once active, your PayPal account will appear under Billing > Payment Methods in your Maxer dashboard.

A PayPal Billing Agreement can be used for all services assigned to PayPal, so you do not need to create a separate agreement for each service.
🔁 What happened to PayPal Subscriptions?
Before PayPal Billing Agreements were introduced in June 2025, we used PayPal Subscriptions to support recurring payments. These subscriptions had several limitations:
-
Each service required a separate subscription
-
There was limited control over the timing of subscription payments
-
Managing multiple subscriptions created unnecessary additional work
PayPal Billing Agreements provide a simpler and more flexible way to manage payments. The transition is now complete, and there are no remaining legacy PayPal subscriptions.
