Upgrading / Downgrading Hosting Services
All of our clients have the option to upgrade/downgrade their hosting plan in their client area, as follows:
- Login to your Maxer Host client area at https://my.maxer.com/login
- Navigate to Services in the top navigation bar
- Find your hosting service in the list and click on the Manage button beside it
- In the left sidebar under the Actions section, click on the Upgrade/Downgrade tab
- Make the new product and billing cycle selections and click on the Choose Product button, which will take you through the process of upgrading/downgrading to a different plan.
- If you don't see your desired hosting plan listed, then it's probably a different type of hosting environment. Please contact us in this case.
The upgrade/downgrade amount will be automatically pro-rated from your current billing period, taking into account the remaining days left on your current plan and the price of the upgrade/downgrade itself until the next due date. In case of downgrades and negative amounts, the amount would be credited to your account and credited to your next invoice. In case of upgrades and remaining payable amounts, the remaining billing period would be credited and you would only need to pay the difference.
The upgrade / downgrade is usually applied automatically and immediately after payment completion, unless you are switching to a different type of hosting plan (e.g. from Shared Hosting to Enterprise Hosting). In this case an account transfer to a different server may be required, but no worries because it's usually done quickly and without significant downtime. We will contact you in case an account transfer is necessary.
Upgrading / Downgrading a Cloud Server or VPS
Please note that we can upgrade Cloud Server or VPS plans, but we cannot downgrade them. Downgrades very often cause major issues with Linux system partitions and there is a very high risk of data loss and file system corruption when attempting to decrease the size of an existing partition. Therefore, if you wish to downgrade the disk space of your Cloud Server or VPS at any time, we will have to recommend you to order a brand new server and migrate to it.
Upgrades are usually less complicated and can be arranged by contacting us. We would need to schedule the upgrade, as a server reboot would be required.
Upgrading a Dedicated Server
Certain hardware parts of dedicated servers can be upgraded on request. Please contact our billing department for a quote.
