We accept all major credit/debit cards via our secure website. Unfortunately, we cannot take payment by phone. It's a common request and this article explains why it isn't possible.

How can I make payment?

If you've received an invoice by email or a payment reminder by email, check the email for the special link to pay the invoice. If you use the special link, you may not even need your login details.
For security reasons the link can only be used a limited number of times. If the link has expired, you should login to your Maxer client account to view the invoice and make payment.

I paid by phone in the past

For many years we have facilitated clients who wanted to pay by phone instead of online, but unfortunately this is no longer possible due to industry wide changes in the European Union and UK. The new SCA requirements to the banking industry took effect in March 2022. SCA or Strong Customer Authentication is where you must verify a credit card payment by logging into your banking app or receiving an SMS code. As this process is managed by your credit card provider, payments can only be completed via our website and this rules out any credit card payment being accepted by phone.

Can't you use the card terminal in your office?

As an online company, we do not have a card terminal in our office. Card payments must be submitted via our secure website.

This is a real nuisance

We share concerns that SCA (Strong Customer Authentication) make it more difficult to make payments and we are acutely aware of the impact on those with specific needs – such as the elderly or disabled. We believe banks could do more to provide education around SCA, explaining the benefits of the extra steps, but also providing better control over settings relating to card security.

I don't want to use my credit/debit card online

We offer alternative payment methods: Direct Debit, Bank Transfer, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.

From 1st January 2023 we are recommending Direct Debit to many of our clients. A direct debit is an arrangement between Maxer and your bank, so the renewal fees for your Maxer services can be debited directly from your bank account. It is commonly used in many countries to pay for utility bills. In the past you would need to fill out a paper mandate; these days it can be setup online in just a few minutes!

There are many ways to pay Maxer.

If you encounter an issue making payment, please contact our billing team by support ticket or live chat.
