If you have chosen to create a PayPal Subscription to pay for your services with Maxer, please be aware that this system has several limitations.
For example:
- When you cancel a service or domain, the PayPal payment module does not automatically cancel or amend the subscription.
- PayPal controls the billing date, which is usually the same each year. If the subscription was created late, it will always be charged late, and neither you nor Maxer can change this.
- A single PayPal subscription can cover multiple services and domains, which may have pricing changes over time. Keeping these updated within PayPal can be a significant challenge.
As the account holder, you are responsible for managing your PayPal subscription. Maxer does not monitor or control subscriptions, and we are not responsible for any errors.
In many cases, an alternative payment method — such as a credit/debit card or Direct Debit — is more suitable, as it ensures that payments are processed correctly and on time.
Cancellation
If you cancel your service with us or switch your payment method from PayPal to a different payment method, you must cancel the PayPal subscription through your PayPal account. Maxer are not responsible for this.
You should log in to your PayPal account and review your subscriptions to ensure everything is correct. If you fail to cancel a subscription and PayPal sends us the funds, this may result in either a service being renewed or an account credit. Refunds are not guaranteed, and our billing team will need to review each case individually.
Duplicate Payments
Please note that Maxer does not directly debit your PayPal account. All PayPal Subscriptions are set up by you, either as a one-off payment or a recurring subscription.
If you are an active client and notice that PayPal has taken a double payment, this means you have accidentally created a second PayPal subscription. Maxer has not double-billed you or taken two payments.
If this happens, the situation is easy to rectify. When Maxer receives duplicate payments from PayPal, the extra amount is applied as account credit. You should then cancel both of your PayPal Subscriptions to prevent further duplicate charges. Future invoices will be automatically deducted from your account credit. Once your account credit is used up, you can set up a new PayPal Subscription or switch to a more convenient payment method such as credit card or Direct Debit.
Refunds are not guaranteed, PayPal charge fees even for refunds, and our billing team will need to review each case individually.
By using PayPal subscriptions, the client acknowledges that Maxer will not be held liable for any fees incurred due to PayPal Subscription payments, whether erroneous or otherwise. This includes, but is not limited to, bank fees, card fees, over-limit fees, or any other fees associated with the client’s PayPal account. Maxer is not responsible for any agreements between PayPal and the customer, including any issues related to PayPal subscription charges.
