Why is my .dk domain showing as “Reserved” instead of “Active”?
If your .dk domain is showing as “Reserved” in the WHOIS lookup (instead of the usual “Active” status), this typically means the Danish registry is waiting for identity verification to be completed.
What’s happening?
For .dk domains, the registry (Punktum) requires the domain owner to verify their identity shortly after registration. Until this process is completed, the domain may appear in WHOIS with a status of “Reserved” rather than “Active”.
Once the verification is completed successfully, the domain status will update to “Active” and the domain can be used normally.
What should I do?
- Check your email inbox and spam folder for a message sent shortly after registration.
- The email is typically sent by Punktum or their verification partner, Addo Sign.
- Follow the instructions in that email to complete the verification process.
Important
Please ensure that you respond directly to any correspondence from Punktum or Addo Sign, as we do not have access to their verification system and cannot complete this process on your behalf.
