This article is intended for customers who want to use the Gmail app on their phone to access their Maxer email account.
Although Gmail no longer supports POP3 import on the web, the Gmail mobile app still supports IMAP connections.
Your Maxer mailbox will appear as a separate account inside the Gmail app.
Step 1: Open the Gmail app
Open the Gmail app on your Android or iPhone.
Go to:
Settings → Add account
Step 2: Choose “Other”
When asked to choose an account type, select:
Other
Enter your full email address.
Step 3: Select IMAP
When prompted, select:
IMAP
Step 4: Enter your mail server details
You will need:

Your full email address (as username)

Your email password
-
Incoming server (IMAP)

mail.example.com(replace example.com with your own domain)
- Example:

Outgoing server (SMTP)
- Example:
mail.example.com(replace example.com with your own domain)
- Example:

SSL enabled

Important limitations

Your Maxer mailbox will NOT merge into your main Gmail inbox.

Gmail spam filtering does NOT apply to this external mailbox.

The mailbox appears as a separate account inside the Gmail app.
If you require all email delivered directly into Gmail on the web, you will need Google Workspace.
