This article is intended for customers who wish to transfer existing services to another Maxer account holder.
If you'd like to move your services or domain names to another Maxer account, our team can help arrange this. It’s often useful when services are being transferred from one person or organisation to another — for example, when a business is sold to a new owner. The transfer can be done without downtime, without interrupting billing, and without having to place an order for a new service or paying any domain transfer fees.
Example: If you’re switching from a sole trader to a limited company, the new company can create its own Maxer account, and your existing services can then be moved across.
Before you start, please ensure the following prerequisites are met:
- The new account holder must register with Maxer. If they haven’t already done so, they can register here: https://my.maxer.com/register.php (note: this form is only visible when not already logged in).
- Billing must be up to date. Invoices should not be overdue, and services or domains must not be suspended.
- The current account holder must be in good standing. If the business has ceased trading, entered liquidation or administration, or if the account holder is deceased, a different process will apply.
Steps to move services to a new Maxer account
- Log in to your Maxer client area: https://my.maxer.com/login
- Go to the Domains page and make a clear list of the domain names you want to move. Please list each domain explicitly (for example: exampledomain.com, exampledomain.ie, exampledomain.uk) rather than writing “all my domains.”
- Go to the Services page and make a clear list of the hosting or other services you wish to move (for example: Plan 1 Hosting – exampledomain.com, Enterprise 1 Hosting – exampledomain.ie).
- Submit your request to our billing team, including the lists of domains and services, and the full name and email address of the new account holder.
For example "I hereby authorise the Plan 1 hosting and domain registration for exampledomain.ie to be moved to Joe Bloggs (joe.bloggs@exampledomain.com) with immediate effect". - Wait for a reply from our team and answer any follow-up questions.
- Once the transfer is complete, you’ll see that any unpaid invoices linked to those services have been marked as cancelled on your My Invoices page. If you no longer have any active services, you can also remove your saved card details from the Payment Methods page.
After the move, the new account holder will be fully responsible for the services, and all future renewal reminders and billing notifications will be sent directly to them.
