Most domain names need an EPP code to transfer to a new provider. One notable exception is .co.uk and .uk domain names.
An EPP code (Extensible Provisioning Protocol) is a special security code that helps protect domain names when they are moved between providers. It was created to make domain transfers secure and reliable.
If you want to transfer your domain to or from Maxer, you’ll need the EPP code for each domain. Without this code, the transfer won’t be possible.
How to obtain the EPP code from Maxer
If your domain is currently registered with us (Maxer), you can obtain its EPP code in our client area, as follows:
- Login to our client area at https://my.maxer.com/login
- In the navigation bar, go to "Domains"
- Find your domain name in the list and click on the "Manage" button
- In the left menu, under the "Manage" section, click on "Registrar lock" and make sure it's disabled (to allow the domain name to be transferred).
- In the left menu under the "Manage" section, click on "Get EPP Code"
For most domain names, the EPP code will display on the page or be sent by email to the admin contact. The admin contact can be managed in the left menu by clicking on "Contact Information", and it may be different to the main email address on your Maxer account.
If the EPP code is invalid or can't be retrieved for some reason, please open a support ticket.
How to obtain the EPP code from other domain registrars
If your domain is not registered through us (Maxer Host), you will need to obtain the EPP code from the domain's current domain registrar. The procedure is different for every domain registrar, but often you should find this information in their control panel. Please contact the current domain registrar for more information.
If you're not aware where your domain is currently registered, you can try to find out inside the registration data using the ICANN Lookup.
