Most domains require an EPP code to authorize a domain transfer. The Extensible Provisioning Protocol (EPP) is a flexible protocol designed for allocating objects within registries over the Internet. The motivation for the creation of EPP was to create a robust and flexible protocol that could provide communication between domain name registries and domain name registrars.

If you wish to transfer your domain to or from Maxer Host, you will require the EPP code for each domain for which you would like to initiate a transfer. If you do not have the current EPP transfer code, you will not be able to initiate and complete the domain transfer.

How to obtain the EPP code from Maxer Host

If your domain is currently registered with us (Maxer Host), you can obtain its EPP code in our client area, as follows:

  1. Login to our client area at https://my.maxer.com/login
  2. In the navigation bar, go to "Domains"
  3. Near the desired domain, click on the "Manage" button
  4. On the left sidebar under the "Manage" section, click on "Get EPP Code"

For most TLDs, the EPP code will display on the page, but for TLDs such as .IE and .UK, the code will be emailed to the domain's "Admin contact", as listed under Manage -> Contact Information. Sometimes this can be a different email address than the one set for your Maxer account. Please see the category regarding IE Domains for all information regarding .IE domains.

If the EPP code is invalid or can't be retrieved for some reason, please open a support ticket.

How to obtain the EPP code from other domain registrars

If your domain is not registered through us (Maxer Host), you will need to obtain the EPP code from the domain's current domain registrar. The procedure is different for every domain registrar, but often you should find this information in their control panel. Please contact the current domain registrar for more information.

If you're not aware where your domain is currently registered, you can try to find out inside the registration data using the ICANN Lookup.
