On 1st August 2025, the .ie domain registry will introduce a new fee to restore a domain name during the redemption period.
The redemption fee for .ie domain names will be €69 +VAT. This fee will apply to any domain name that has expired and was not renewed during the standard renewal period or grace period.
By default, our billing system will attempt to automatically renew domain names. Please make sure the auto-renew setting is ON and that a valid payment method is saved (such as a credit/debit card, Direct Debit, or PayPal Billing Agreement).
When an .ie domain name expires, there is a 75-day expiration window, which consists of three phases:
- Grace Period (40 days) – The domain owner can renew the domain name without any additional charges (just the standard renewal fee).
- Redemption Period (30 days) – The domain name can still be renewed, but an additional fee will apply.
- Deletion Period (5 days) – The domain name is pending deletion and can no longer be recovered. Once deleted, it becomes available for re-registration on a first-come, first-served basis.
