If you've previously downloaded a backup of your account through cPanel, restoring your site, emails and account is a simple process.

Partial Restore

Sometimes you may only need to restore certain parts of your account and keep other parts as they are. To do this, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your cPanel account (see here how)
  2. Navigate to the Backup button under the Files category
  3. Under the Partial Backups section on the right side, you'll have the following options:
    • Restore a Home Directory Backup
This type of backup contains your account's entire home directory, which includes files/folders of your website(s), raw email files, logs and statistics, some cPanel settings, WP Toolkit and Softaculous backup files, etc. However, it is not your full account backup (it doesn't contain databases, DNS zones, email filters, various cPanel settings, etc.).
    • Restore a MySQL Database Backup
    • Restore Email Forwarders
    • Restore Email Filters
  4. Choose the type of backup you wish to restore, click on the Choose File button and select the respective file on your computer which you would like to restore
  5. Click on the Upload button and wait for the process to finish
Note: It's important not to cancel the request, click the Upload button more than once, or leave the page until the process finishes completely. Depending on your upload speed and the size of the backup, this process can take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes, especially when restoring home directory backups or large databases.

After the upload and restore processes finish, please verify if the data has been restored fully and correctly.

R1Soft Backups

Alternatively, you can also restore files/folders from our R1Soft Server Backup vault, where we usually have monthly, weekly and daily backups available. You can find these in cPanel under Files -> R1Soft Restore Backups. Databases can also be restored from there, but require our intervention, for which you would need to open a ticket at our technical support department.

Full Restore

If you need to perform a full restore of your account using a full cPanel backup, please upload it to your home directory via FTP or the File Manager, then open a ticket at our technical support department to request its restore.

It is currently not possible to restore a full cPanel backup by yourself. Our technicians will gladly do this for you using the provided backup. Please note that this would overwrite your account (all existing data) with the data inside the backup.
