We are adjusting the fees of our hosting plans from 1st September 2023.
As a web hosting company, the majority of our expenses are tied to hardware, software, and energy costs. Over the past two years, nearly all of our suppliers have raised their prices multiple times. Notably, the surge in electricity costs has been unprecedented.
At Maxer, we are acutely mindful of the repercussions of Covid-19 and the subsequent cost-of-living challenges. During times of significant volatility, we chose to hold off on implementing any price changes. We waited for inflation to slow and prices to stabilise. Indeed the pricing for our most popular hosting plans has remained unchanged since 2015, and prior to that, since 2005. We are now adjusting our fees in a modest way from September 2023, reflecting the current economic landscape.
Shared Hosting

Reseller Hosting
Please note this is the first time since 2015 we have adjusted our reseller hosting pricing. In 2019 cPanel changed their licensing model from per-server to per-account, and increased the per-account fee again each year in January 2020, 2021 and 2022 - but we did not increase our pricing. The licensing cost for us to provide each reseller hosting plan is now higher than ever, coupled with the impact of inflation on hardware and energy costs. Nevertheless, we continue to provide our reseller hosting with the industry leading cPanel control panel, 24x7 technical support, at very competitive pricing. Now reseller plans include R1Soft daily backups, Auto-SSL for all websites, and WP Toolkit (WordPress manager) at no extra cost.

Dedicated Servers
Our Dublin datacentre has begun charging an additional €27 monthly fee per server to cover the increase in energy costs. We will increase the monthly fee accordingly for invoices generated after 8th September 2023.
In other datacentre locations, there will be an increase of 8% on all dedicated servers, unless your server contract specifies otherwise. This will be applied to renewal invoices generated on/after 8th September 2023.
Cloud/Virtual (VPS) Servers
There will be an increase of 8% on all cloud/virtual servers to cover an increase in energy costs and in some areas increased fees for hardware and software. This will be applied to renewal invoices generated on/after 8th September 2023.
Legacy Hosting Plans from JSWeb
There will be an increase of 6% on these legacy plans. The pricing of these hosting plans has remained unchanged since 2020, and in some cases 2013. This change will be applied to renewal invoices generated on/after 15th September 2023. It will predominantly cover an increase in energy costs but also some additional fees for hardware and software.
Legacy Hosting Plans from MaxterHost
There will be an increase of 9% on these legacy plans. The pricing of these hosting plans has remained unchanged for more than a decade, and in some cases since 2004. This change will be applied to renewal invoices generated on/after 15th September 2023. It will predominantly cover an increase in energy costs but also some additional fees for hardware and software, including multiple increases in licensing fees for cPanel and additional services like LiteSpeed and Imunify.
Legacy Hosting Plans from Aventure Host, Wupav Hosting, and SpeedySparrow hosting
There will be an increase of 12% on these legacy plans. The pricing of these hosting plans has remained largely unchanged since 2011, 2012 and 2013. This change will be applied to renewal invoices generated on/after 15th September 2023. It will predominantly cover an increase in energy costs but also some additional fees for hardware and software, including multiple increases in cPanel license fees.
Hardship Fund
If you are struggling financially please advise our billing department. Our team will do our best to help you. We can review your renewal fees and provide a payment extension. Our hardship fund is focused on providing support to registered charities, refugees and those in need.
