Our server firewall may block your IP address if it detects potentially malicious activity originating from it. For example, if the web server, database server or email server receives a large number of failed login attempts or an excessive amount of requests (a traffic flood), your IP address will be blocked temporarily for 30 minutes to prevent an attack against our network. The server firewall will block an IP address four times for 30-minute durations, and then on the fifth time the block will be permanent (until you request an unblock).

Unblocking your IP address

To rectify, please make sure you are logged into the client area, then go to Support -> Unblock IP. Here's a direct link: IP Address Unblock - Maxer

The web form will be pre-filled with the public IP address of your computer/device, but feel free to check other IP addresses, too. For example, your computer may have a different IP address than your mobile phone if they don't use the same internet connection. The IP address may change every 24-72 hours, depending on your ISP's policy or router settings, unless you have a static IP address.

The system will check if your IP address is blocked. If it is blocked, it will remove the block and tell you when/why it was blocked.

Whitelisting

For security reasons, we cannot whitelist IP addresses that don't belong to our own network. Whitelisting of trusted IP addresses is only possible in isolated hosting environments (i.e. virtual/dedicated hosting), but not in shared hosting environments (i.e. shared/reseller hosting).
